Romantic Gardens Making your Best Moments of life

Who is with me to transform an ordinary backyard into the romantic garden of your dreams? In this article, I share my favorite backyard garden design and ideas that are just too good to pass on.

A change of mentality before spring

April is approaching and I have started watching gardening shows again.

It's a rather funny story: As an avid gardener, I find myself less passionate about the garden during the winter months. I was no longer interested in watching my favorite gardening shows and YouTube channels, or planning for next spring. It scared me! I was so afraid of gardening too much and losing this amazing hobby that I had so much fun with.

Interestingly, as soon as the weather warms up I went right into a mad gardener mode. Walking around the local nurseries, watching UK garden exhibits, taking care of my plants - I can't believe I've come back to life.

Dreamy garden space that I never tire of

Waiting impatiently for the seeds to sprout, flower to bloom, here are some beautiful gardens that I cannot soak up enough each day. Hope they will also make you excited about spring

Looking to add a little romance to your garden? We enlisted the help of award-winning garden designer Charlotte Rowe and asked her to share her top tips on how to turn your garden into not only a place to enjoy with the whole family, but also with your partner.

Here are some ideas that will inspire you!

“Think about the best use of your space and engaging the senses,” says Charlotte. “We can divide our gardens into zones and create 'rooms' to add interest. Private areas, protected by evergreen hedges, shrubs and trees, or a willow tunnel, can be very romantic. "

Arches and secret hiding places

Walking through an arch is like stepping into a new, hidden world. You can make your garden your own little getaway by adding a beautiful archway at the entrance to different sections. These arches can be subtle like a hanging willow tree or as bold as a physical doorway.

“Create secluded nooks and crannies, away from the children's playground and out of sight of neighbors,” suggests Charlotte.

Sitting Area

Whether you're alone, sitting with a loved one, or throwing a party, having a comfortable seating area is always a great idea.

A small bench or a complete set of table and chairs can add a lot to your garden and make it more welcoming.

A timeless and romantic garden piece of furniture is a swivel chair that can be hung from a large tree branch (if, of course, you have one) or its own frame. Not only is it fun for children, but also very relaxing for adults.

“Set up beautiful outdoor sofas and ottomans or a built-in bench and surround yourself with herb beds or a lush mix of tactile herbs and perennials,” says Charlotte. "Some may prefer a seat under a traditional pergola or an arbor with beautifully scented climbing roses."

Lights

The right lighting can make a space instantly more romantic.

String lights are a very useful addition because you can wrap them around vines, trees or between poles. Read our favorite suggestions on using string lights in your garden here.

Candles are also romantic but can be quite tedious on windy days. Try candles in large glass lids.

The water

A water feature can add romance, texture, and height to your garden. “The sight and sound of flowing water gives an air of serenity and calm,” says Charlotte.

It doesn't have to be an elaborate fountain - tilting rain sticks can have the same effect.

Outdoor Spa

For the more adventurous landscaper, an outdoor spa is both relaxing and romantic. A comfy lounge chair next to a water feature, a reading nook with hanging chimes or even an outdoor tub can follow for ultimate relaxation.

Statues

Placing a statue in the garden that embodies the feeling you desire for that area can enhance the romance. They also add texture and scenario to your outdoor space.

Outdoor life

Creating an outdoor living space allows you to immerse yourself in your garden. You can create a lovely outdoor living room by installing an awning and creating a curtain from hanging vines.

If your backyard space is limited, you can instead optimize your porch for outdoor living.

For lovers of the sky and trees, hammocks are ideal for feeling the elements all around you.

Flowers

It is really hard not to fall for the romantic beauty of flowers. By choosing your favorite colors and scents when planting your borders, you will instantly feel calm. Some of our favorite romantic flowers are peonies, camellias, roses, foxgloves and snowdrops.
