70 Thousand Cars from Russia
The problem with a possible breakdown of the fuel pump affected a wide range of models
Toyota will recall more than 69 thousand vehicles from
Russia due to possible problems with the fuel pump. Rosstandart reports that
the problem affected different brands of cars - the recalled cars are equipped
with a low-pressure fuel pump, the material of which can crack. Cars sold from
2013 to 2020 were at risk of breakdown.
"In this situation, it is possible for fuel to
penetrate into the impeller material, which can lead to its deformation and, in
some cases, contact between the impeller and the fuel pump housing, which, in
turn, can affect its performance," the Rosstandart explained.
The recalled vehicles included Toyota Alphard, Toyota Camry,
Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota Land
Cruiser 200, as well as various Lexus variations. Car owners need to contact
the nearest dealership and arrange a visit - the fuel pumps will be replaced
free of charge.
